PROJECT MANAGER—BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Richmond

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking an experienced sales and marketing professional for the Advanced Manufacturing Team to build relationships and aggressively promote Virginia to business and industry executives. The Project Manager must have the ability to prepare and carry-out a general marketing plan reaching broad target sector audiences, to respond to and quickly adapt to changes in economic and marketing priorities.  The position is primarily focused on advanced manufacturing business sectors and domestically-based companies but knowledge of international customs and Advanced Manufacturing sector markets is necessary.

Candidates must possess considerable successful, executive level sales and marketing experience in a corporate business environment or in a local or regional economic development office, including demonstrated experience in developing and executing marketing strategies to effectively close deals.  Candidates must have experience in prospect development, marketing, sales, corporate development, and/or economic development and be able to demonstrate a complete understanding of project management when collaborating with regional and local allies.  The Project Manager must have excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.  Applicants must also have strong organizational skills and be able to plan and successfully manage multiple marketing projects.  Proficiency in using multiple PC software packages and multiple digital communication devices is required.  Experience with Salesforce is a plus. Extensive travel is required.  Undergraduate/graduate degree in marketing, business administration or economics is preferred.  Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation is a plus.  Salary minimum: $57,219.  Salary commensurate with experience.
