VBAF provides grants or loans to local governments to promote restoration and redevelopment of brownfield properties and to address environmental problems or obstacles to reuse so these properties can be effectively marketed to new economic development prospects.

VEDP and DEQ are revamping the FY27 VBAF application process. If you plan to apply for a Site Assessment and Planning Grant before October 1, 2026, please contact mmende [at] vedp.org (Michelle Mende) to request the FY27 guidelines and application. The FY27 Site Remediation Grant application process will open on October 1, 2026.
