VEDP Divisions

The Team

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is the state economic development authority for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Created in 1995, VEDP collaborates with local, regional, and state partners to encourage the expansion and diversification of Virginia’s economy. VEDP works to accomplish these objectives through a variety of activities, including marketing and lead generation; business retention, expansion, and attraction; trade development; business intelligence; competitive benchmarking; site development; performance-based incentives; and talent solutions.

Opportunities

VEDP is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All applicants are considered for employment without regard to race, sex, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, veteran status, political affiliation, genetics, or against otherwise qualified individuals with disabilities.

VEDP is a certified Virginia Values Veterans (V3) Program employer with ongoing plans to recruit, hire, and retain veterans.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking an experienced economic development or industry professional to support the Vice President, Manufacturing, in executing strategic initiatives, managing daily operations, and driving internal collaboration. This role includes leading a team, overseeing lead generation efforts, developing ecosystem initiatives, and enhancing Virginia’s competitiveness in the Manufacturing Sector.

VEDP seeks to hire a Chief of Talent and Workforce Strategy who will play a central role in positioning Virginia as a Top State for Talent by developing a strategy and coordinating across VEDP divisions, regional partners, and state government to implement the strategy.

While Virginia has long focused on meeting employers’ talent needs, efforts to truly differentiate Virginia as a Top State for Talent are in the early stages. VEDP has developed three strategic focus areas for this effort and is working to align our efforts with workforce development organizations, higher education, and other statewide talent stakeholders. VEDP’s primary strategic focus areas for talent are:

Retain and Attract Talent: Strengthening and highlighting the Commonwealth’s assets and economic opportunities is necessary to retain and attract the talent that will meet the demands of employers

Develop Talent that is Aligned to Employers’ Needs: Understanding industry needs and production of in-demand talent aligned with those needs is critical for creating pathways to opportunity and building a thriving workforce

Unlock Individual Potential by Reducing Barriers: To ensure Virginians engage in the labor force, the Commonwealth needs to reduce barriers to participation and advancement (e.g., childcare, transportation, housing)

VEDP is seeking to hire an Executive Vice President (EVP) who will play a central role in achieving VEDP’s transformational economic development goals by strategically leading the implementation and continuous improvement of the Innovative Framework operating model across VEDP’s lead generation, ecosystem building, project management, research, incentives, and marketing functions.

The EVP also will play a vital leadership role in collaborating with the President and CEO in leading VEDP’s overall strategy and operations to encourage, stimulate, and support the development and expansion of the economy of the Commonwealth in collaboration with state, regional, and local partners.

The EVP position reports to VEDP’s President and CEO and requires strong leadership and management experience with a proven track record of collaborating with diverse partners and constituents to achieve mutually beneficial goals and objectives.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking a grant administrator to join its Real Estate Solutions Division. This position will work with economic development partners and the grant program manager to administer VEDP’s grant programs, including financial reporting, budget updates, payment requests and invoicing, ensuring timely coordination and review of required appropriate project documentation and managing updates to stakeholders and supporting contract management.

This position will join a high-impact team that broadly focuses on analyzing, developing, and implementing real estate solutions for economic development projects across Virginia. The team collaborates and coordinates with partners (e.g., local and regional economic development organizations, utilities, state funding partners) and third-party private entities to strategically develop and maintain a comprehensive, statewide portfolio of project-ready industrial sites and other real estate options for the full range of economic development project types and sizes considering Virginia and its regions.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking a Salesforce Business Analyst to join the Salesforce Team in the Research Division. This position will work collaboratively with the Salesforce team and internal customers to deliver solutions, provide user support services, and assist with training. The selected person will join a talented team that values continuous learning and teamwork and strives to foster collaboration and innovation, ensuring our Salesforce platform continuously meets the needs of VEDP.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking a Senior Communications Manager to assist the Managing Director of Communications in raising the profile of VEDP by implementing and overseeing earned media campaigns promoting Virginia’s target sectors, economic development and workforce solutions, and industry leader testimonials. This position will be responsible for identifying trends and unique stories for news releases and pitches; writing media responses, event briefings, and talking points; and creating content for industry-specific case studies, the annual report, and other publications as needed.
