The Team

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is the state economic development authority for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Created in 1995, VEDP collaborates with local, regional, and state partners to encourage the expansion and diversification of Virginia’s economy. VEDP works to accomplish these objectives through a variety of activities, including marketing and lead generation; business retention, expansion, and attraction; trade development; business intelligence; competitive benchmarking; site development; performance-based incentives; and talent solutions.

Job Opportunities

VEDP is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All applicants are considered for employment without regard to race, sex, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, veteran status, political affiliation, genetics, or against otherwise qualified individuals with disabilities.

VEDP is a certified Virginia Values Veterans (V3) Program employer with ongoing plans to recruit, hire, and retain veterans.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to serve as Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Incentives. This pivotal position will oversee the design, implementation, and administration of Virginia’s economic development incentive programs-tools that help attract and retain major business incentives and create high-quality jobs across the Commonwealth.

The AVP will assist in leading a high-performing team, collaborate with local and regional partners, and ensure the integrity, transparency, and impact of VEDP-administered incentives. This role requires a mix of analytical rigor, policy expertise, and exceptional leadership, diplomacy, and communication skills.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) seeks a Business Manager for the Logistics Sector to implement an air cargo gateway strategy leveraging Washington-Dulles International Airport to drive growth and investment in Virginia's logistics sector and attract investment from heavy air cargo use industries. This role focuses on expanding the air cargo logistics ecosystem, enhancing infrastructure efficiency, attracting cargo volume through Dulles cargo operations, developing KPIs to measure success, promoting innovation within the sector, and supporting investment in advanced manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and other targeted growth sectors. The Business Manager will leverage market intelligence and collaborate with key stakeholders to position Virginia as the premier choice for air cargo logistics operations.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) seeks a Vice President, Marketing & Communications to lead the Commonwealth’s efforts to promote Virginia as a Top State for Business. This position oversees integrated marketing strategies that showcase Virginia’s competitive advantages, including digital branding, trade show engagement, and site consultant outreach. This role will interact professionally, collaboratively, and strategically with all divisions of VEDP as well as local, regional, and state partners, and site selection consultants, often engaging and leveraging resources where viable to accomplish the division’s objectives and providing relevant support to achieve VEDP’s goals and mission. Critical to the outreach component of this role is the ongoing cultivation of VEDP’s relationships with site selection consultants, who represent companies in their search for best business destination to relocate or expand their business operations across the United States. The Vice President, Marketing & Communications is a member of VEDP’s Business Development Core Group, ultimately reporting to the Sr. Vice President, Marketing, Communications & Research and Chief of Staff.
