RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that Virginia-based Capital One Financial Corporation (NYSE: COF) will invest more than $150 million to establish a new data center in Chesterfield County. This Virginia data center is part of Capital One’s core IT infrastructure that incorporates new technologies to better meet customer needs. Capital One recently completed acquisitions of ING Direct and HSBC’s US credit card portfolio. The project will create at least 50 new jobs. Virginia successfully competed against Texas for the project.

Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that First Data Resources, Inc. will expand operations in the City of Chesapeake. The company will invest $10 million for a new print and mail operation located at 1408 Stephanie Way. First Data anticipates creating up to 130 new jobs for the operation within the next three years. First Data opened a credit card personalization and distribution center in Chesapeake in April 1999.

RICHMOND - Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced that Terremark Worldwide, Inc., a leading operator of integrated Internet exchanges and a global provider of managed Information Technology (IT) infrastructure solutions for government and private sectors, expects to invest approximately $270 million over the next 5-7 years to open a data center campus on a 30-acre site in Culpeper County. The project is expected to create 250 new jobs. Virginia successfully competed with New Jersey, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania for the project.

The company will install dark fiber infrastructure in an existing facility in the Vint Hill Business Park.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that Noblis, a nonprofit science, technology and strategy organization that helps clients solve complex scientific, systems, process, and infrastructure problems in ways that benefit the public, and Cray Inc., a global leader in supercomputing, will invest $2.5 million to establish the Center for Applied High Performance Computing (CAHPC) in the City of Danville.

Modine, a diversified global leader in innovative thermal management solutions, will invest $18.1 million to expand its Rockbridge County operation and create 211 new jobs.
