Siemens Information and Communication Networks facility opening to create 100 new jobs

Reston - Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore today joined Siemens executives and customers to celebrate the opening of the new region headquarters office of Siemens Information and Communication Networks Inc. The new facility will allow for the creation of 100 new jobs in Fairfax County. 

CoStar Group, Inc., a leading provider of real estate information, analytics, and online marketplaces, expects to invest more than $460 million to expand in Richmond.

RICHMOND - Governor Terry McAuliffe today announced that CoStar Group, the leading provider of commercial real estate information, analytics and online marketplaces, will invest $8.17 million in a new research and software development center in Richmond. Virginia successfully competed against states in the Southeast and Midwest for this project, which will create 732 new jobs and have a total economic impact of $250 million via direct local salaries, lease on the property, and capital improvements at the facility, among other factors.

Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that ERNI Components, Inc. will expand its operation in the Rivers Bend Center in Chesterfield County. The expansion will create 550 new jobs and the company will invest $98.4 million to complete this project. Virginia successfully competed with Nevada for the investment.

"The Commonwealth's pro-business environment is vital to the satisfaction of our existing companies," said Governor Gilmore. "ERNI's decision to embark on such a major expansion is a testament to Virginia's success in this area."

LYNCHBURG - Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced that RR Donnelley, a provider of print and related services, will invest $85 million to expand manufacturing operations at its three Virginia plants, creating a combined 139 new jobs within 30 months. The company will invest $38 million in Roanoke County; $29 million in the City of Lynchburg; and $17 million in Rockingham County. Virginia successfully competed against several other states for the project.

RICHMOND - Governor Terry McAuliffe today announced that Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), an Amazon.com company (NASDAQ: AMZN), will expand its presence with a new East Coast corporate campus at One Dulles Tower in Fairfax County. AWS offers cloud computing services to businesses, government, and educational organizations, including web hosting, application hosting, storage and backup, content delivery, and scalable database solutions. Virginia successfully competed against Texas and Washington for the project, which will create up to 1,500 new jobs.

Pangiam, an emerging technology company streamlining the travel and security industries, will invest $3.1 million to establish its global headquarters in Fairfax County.

RICHMOND - Governor Terry McAuliffe today announced that MicroHealth, LLC, a provider of health information technology for federal and commercial health organizations, will invest $395,000 to expand its IT operation in Fairfax County, creating 65 new jobs.
