The Team

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is the state economic development authority for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Created in 1995, VEDP collaborates with local, regional, and state partners to encourage the expansion and diversification of Virginia’s economy. VEDP works to accomplish these objectives through a variety of activities, including marketing and lead generation; business retention, expansion, and attraction; trade development; business intelligence; competitive benchmarking; site development; performance-based incentives; and talent solutions.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking an experienced economic development professional to successfully promote Virginia to targeted corporate executives and consultants as the preferred location for new and expanding business facilities. 

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking a Regional Business Outreach Manager for its Regional Talent Solutions and Business Outreach Division for its Roanoke and Charlottesville areas. As a representative of VEDP, this position will conduct business outreach to assist growing Virginia companies with their recruitment and training needs and help companies leverage available programs to support their growth. The position will help: 

  • Support VEDP-assisted projects in the region with talent subject matter expertise 
  • Market and administer the Virginia Jobs Investment Program incentive for qualifying companies in the region
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key traded sector businesses in the region
  • Closely collaborate with workforce, education, and economic development stakeholders in the region 

The Virginia Office of Education Economics (VOEE) housed within the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking a Data Operations Specialist to maintain and manage a data environment of ongoing work supporting the development and analysis of data sets to examine labor supply and demand, career pathways, skills, and other areas of interest related to understanding education and workforce. Created through legislation in 2021, VOEE is tasked with providing a unified, consistent source of data, analysis, and insights of talent, education, and labor market alignment. VOEE’s work seeks to inform policy and practice changes and lead to innovation throughout the Commonwealth to improve outcomes for students, workers, and industry. This position is an opportunity to join the VOEE team at VEDP and help build this uniquely positioned office.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking an experienced graphic designer/illustrator for the Virginia Talent Accelerator Program.  The Virginia Talent Accelerator provides a comprehensive suite of services including talent recruitment, creative services, and video production, in addition to new-hire training in proprietary client technologies, leadership, collaboration skills, and quality systems. These services are provided free of charge to eligible client companies as an incentive for locating major job creation projects in Virginia. The ideal candidate is a conceptual and critical thinker who has experience developing marketing creative for talent recruiting as well as transforming instructional learning concepts into innovative visual solutions for new-hire training. 

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking a Managing Director, Communications to lead the Communications Team's efforts to promote Virginia as a Top State for Business to audiences in the state, nationally, and globally. This leadership position plays a threefold role in raising awareness of Virginia’s advantages for business:

  • Developing and executing effective communications strategies that will influence perceptions about the Commonwealth
  • Serving as a primary liaison with the Governor’s Communications office, as well as VEDP’s stakeholders and partners, to oversee the execution of press announcements and events for Virginia’s business development wins 
  • Overseeing media relations, including cultivation and management of VEDP’s relationship with the media
