Lieutenant Governor Hager attends Quad Media's announcement celebration
Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that Quad Media of Pulaski County will expand its operations by 25 new employees due to an innovative marketing alliance. Quad Media has signed an agreement with Election Systems & Software, Inc. (ES&S) of Omaha, Nebraska to exclusively distribute the company's new ADA-compliant voting system. Quad Media's unique Portable Interactive Kiosk (PIK) will be the first ADA-compliant product offered by ES&S to the election industry. The multi-year contract is expected to generate revenue in excess of $40 million by the end of its term. Lieutenant Governor John Hager attended today's announcement.
"It is refreshing to see a Virginia company develop innovative voting systems and products for the disabled," said Governor Gilmore. "Quad Media will assist Americans with disabilities as well as create 25 quality jobs for the families of the New River Valley."
Quad Media is a designer and manufacturer of portable and modular kiosk systems for human resource, point of information and point of purchase applications. Clients include Fortune 500 companies in the electronics, pharmaceuticals, retail and aerospace sectors. The comprehensive interface system of the PIK allows any user, regardless of their disability, the ability to easily operate the voting system unassisted.

ES&S designs, develops, manufacturers, sells and services software and hardware systems to automate all phases of the voting process for local, state and national elections worldwide. Both ES&S and Quad Media have partnered with the Trace Research and Development Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison to advance the ability and rights of people with disabilities to achieve their life objectives through the use of communication, computer, information and election technologies.
