Governor Gilmore announces 400 new jobs for Virginia's Northern Neck
Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that The Gannon Technologies Group, a subsidiary organization of Gannon International, is opening an electronic image conversion facility in the Town of Warsaw. Gannon Technologies is a high tech group of companies providing digital electronic information management services to a wide array of clients, both public and private, throughout the world. The Warsaw facility is expected to employ up to 400 people, infusing an estimated $12 million annually into the local economy.
"This decision reaffirms that Virginia is The Information Technology State," said Governor Gilmore. "The Gannon Technologies Group will continue to grow in this prospering industry as it brings new high tech employment opportunities to the people of rural Virginia."
Founded in St. Louis in 1983, Gannon is a multinational corporation engaged in international trade, real estate development and construction, litigation support services, high volume electronic imaging conversion, computer programming, digital publishing, and technological services. With offices in St. Louis, Miami, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City, Washington, D.C. and Herndon, Virginia, Gannon International had 1997 revenues of $50 million, and projects $75 million in 1998. Through its subsidiary, Gannon Development Company, the company has already started renovation of the recently-acquired 45,000 square foot facility in Warsaw. The 11-acre site allows for possible future expansion. A subsidiary company, Litigation Systems, Inc., is already at work in interim in the facilities. Operations for related Gannon corporations, Digital Publishing, Inc., and GTI, will begin soon. Gannon's work in Warsaw will deal with services related to the conversion of vital statistics for the Republic of Panama.
Gannon considered several alternative sites before selecting Richmond County. The company was impressed with the work ethic of the many qualified applicants in the Town of Warsaw, the Northern Neck and surrounding areas. Gannon employees will image, code, and digitize evidence, records and other vital statistics in support of large-scale, legal complex case management and government contracts.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership, Richmond County, the Town of Warsaw and Virginia's River Country assisted Gannon with the decision. The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will provide workforce training services. Gannon is also discussing a training program with Rappahannock Community College that it hopes to launch early next year.
