Taiwanese-based manufacturer will create up to 100 new jobs, invest more than $20 million in facility

Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that Eternal Technology Corporation, a Taiwan-based manufacturer of dry film photoresist materials, will locate a new facility in Chesterfield County. The Richmond metropolitan area will gain up to 100 new jobs and more than $20 million in investment from the project over the next several years.

"I am thrilled to announce that Eternal Technology Corporation will be the first major Taiwanese manufacturer to locate in Virginia," Governor Gilmore said. "Eternal will be a welcome addition to the state’s growing high-tech electronics manufacturing sector."

Eternal Technology Corporation is a subsidiary of Eternal Chemical Company Ltd. that is based in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The Chesterfield plant will be the company’s first Virginia facility. Eternal Technology will manufacture photoresist product that enables printed circuit board manufacturers to produce extremely fine circuit patterns on copper-clad laminated plates through a photo-imaging process.

"We chose Chesterfield County, Virginia because of its strategic business location," said Ying Kao, President of Eternal Technology Corporation. "We will utilize Virginia’s excellent transportation infrastructure to carry our products and we have great confidence in the state’s skilled workforce."

"Virginia’s skilled engineers will have tremendous job opportunities with Eternal Technology Corporation," said Secretary of Commerce and Trade Barry E. Du Val. "This Taiwanese company will bring revenue and innovation to the Greater Richmond area."

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership, the Greater Richmond Partnership and Chesterfield County assisted the company with its decision. The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will provide workforce training services.
