Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced Heat Transfer Specialties (HTS), a subsidiary of Entrodyne Corporation, will locate in the Rockbridge Regional Industrial Park in the City of Buena Vista. The relocation of HTS from Jeffersonville, Indiana, to Buena Vista will involve an investment in facilities, equipment, and improvements of approximately $3.5 million. Employment will total roughly 250, including assemblers, welders, electricians, and support personnel. Virginia successfully competed with Indiana and Kentucky for this project.

"Virginia is dedicated to supporting and maintaining its existing industries," said Governor Gilmore. "Our positive business climate helped bring Heat Transfer Specialties, a subsidiary of an existing Virginia company, to the Commonwealth."

Governor Gilmore approved a $100,000 grant from the Governor's Opportunity Fund to assist Buena Vista with site preparation. The Virginia Economic Development Partnership, The Rockbridge Partnership and the City of Buena Vista assisted Entrodyne with its decision to locate Heat Transfer Specialties in Buena Vista. The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will provide workforce training services.

Entrodyne Corporation, headquartered in Natural Bridge Station, Virginia, is the parent company of Des Champs Laboratories (DLI) and Heat Transfer Specialties (HTS). DLI is a manufacturer of energy recovery and air quality improvement equipment. HTS manufactures custom air handling units. HTS has considerable experience in areas such as hospitals, pharmaceuticals, institutions, and the semi-conductor industry. Heat Transfer Specialties has over 20 years of experience in designing and building high quality custom air handling products, from basic units to fully wired and piped systems with controls.

"After looking at several options, Virginia was selected because of many factors including: the state's economic incentives and technology resources, the availability of a quality work force, its proximity to our customer base, and the area's overall support for industry and growth." According to Daniel Otten, Vice President of Entrodyne and General Manager of HTS.

"Virginia's presence in the advanced manufacturing sector will only be strengthened by the addition of Heat Transfer Specialties," said Secretary of Commerce and Trade Barry E. DuVal. "We are pleased that Entrodyne chose to bring another one of its operations to Virginia."
