Richmond - Representatives from the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP), Virginia companies, and economic development professionals from across the Commonwealth will participate in the Hannover Fair 2001. The trade show will take place from April 23-28, 2001.

"The Hannover Fair is a great opportunity for Virginia companies to take advantage of the opportunities for tremendous growth resulting from international exporting," said Mark R. Kilduff, VEDP's executive director. "Virginia economic developers will be on hand to seek investment in Virginia from European companies."

The Hannover Fair is the largest trade show in the world. Around 300,000 professionals from more than 100 countries visit the show. Virginia's exhibit will be located in a prime location in the Automated Assembly, Handling and Machine Vision Hall, the world's largest industrial technology exhibition.

Participating companies will receive pre-screened appointments with prospective customers, a prime location in a high traffic area, private meeting rooms as well as exhibit support and translation services from VEDP staff. In addition to these benefits, VEDP will arrange pre-event marketing by its German-based staff. Companies will be able to attend a Virginia-sponsored reception and will receive follow-up assistance after the fair.

Virginia companies interested in participating in the Hannover Fair should contact Joe Robinson, VEDP International Trade Manager, at (540) 857-6029 or jrobinson [at] yesvirginia.org. For more information on Hannover Fair 2001, go to www.hannovermesse.de.
