RICHMOND - Virginia Governor Mark Warner today announced that Unique Industries, Inc., a wholesale supplier of party goods, will locate a distribution facility in the former eToys building in Blairs, Virginia. The company will create 420 new jobs through a $19.6 million dollar investment. Virginia successfully competed with Georgia, North Carolina and Florida for this investment.

“The job creation from this project is especially significant to Pittsylvania County and the surrounding communities,” said Governor Warner. “In addition to their ideal location, Unique Industries will benefit from hiring Virginia's skilled workers.”

Headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Unique Industries, Inc. is a leading manufacturer and distributor of party merchandise and popular licenses. The company sells to wholesalers, distributors and retailers. In business for more than 40 years, Unique currently has facilities in three countries.

“We chose Virginia and specifically Pittsylvania County based on their aggressive pursuit of our company, and the highly qualified workforce available in the area,” Craig Novak, President of Unique Industries.

Governor Warner approved a $250,000 grant from the Governor's Opportunity Fund to assist Pittsylvania County with the project. The Virginia Economic Development Partnership and Pittsylvania County assisted Unique Industries, Inc. with its decision. Workforce training services will be provided by the Virginia Department of Business Assistance.
