RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that Digital Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE: DLR), a leading global provider of data center solutions, plans to invest at least $150 million by 2015 in its Loudoun County operation. The company is expanding and upgrading data center facilities in Loudoun County, and expecting to create at least 50 new jobs through June 30, 2015.

Fairfax County - Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that GlobalCenter Inc. has officially opened its second data center in Fairfax County. GlobalCenter, a subsidiary of Global Crossing Ltd., is expected to house over 150 new jobs at this facility.

Major data center project in Henrico County will create thousands of construction jobs, more than 100 full-time operational jobs 

RICHMOND - Governor Terry McAuliffe today announced that Facebook will bring more than $1 billion of new investment to the Commonwealth. Facebook is directly investing $750 million to establish a 970,000-square-foot data center in the White Oak Technology Park in Henrico County.

Amazon Web Services (AWS), an Amazon.com, Inc. company (NASDAQ: AMZN), plans to invest $35 billion by 2040 to establish multiple data center campuses across Virginia.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell announced today that Microsoft Corp. will invest up to $499 million to locate their latest generation data center (Gen4) in Mecklenburg County, in what will be the largest economic investment in Southern Virginia history. Using modular technology and advanced cooling mechanics, the center will be Microsoft’s most advanced data center. The project will create 50 new jobs and Virginia successfully competed against North Carolina and Texas to secure this sought after facility.

Munters Corporation will invest $29.95 million to build a 200,000-square-foot expansion to its HVAC manufacturing facility in Botetourt County, creating 270 new jobs.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that Virginia-based Capital One Financial Corporation (NYSE: COF) will invest more than $150 million to establish a new data center in Chesterfield County. This Virginia data center is part of Capital One’s core IT infrastructure that incorporates new technologies to better meet customer needs. Capital One recently completed acquisitions of ING Direct and HSBC’s US credit card portfolio. The project will create at least 50 new jobs. Virginia successfully competed against Texas for the project.

Company will create 130 new jobs and invest $10 million

Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that First Data Resources, Inc. will expand operations in the City of Chesapeake. The company will invest $10 million for a new print and mail operation located at 1408 Stephanie Way. First Data anticipates creating up to 130 new jobs for the operation within the next three years. First Data opened a credit card personalization and distribution center in Chesapeake in April 1999.

RICHMOND - Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced that Terremark Worldwide, Inc., a leading operator of integrated Internet exchanges and a global provider of managed Information Technology (IT) infrastructure solutions for government and private sectors, expects to invest approximately $270 million over the next 5-7 years to open a data center campus on a 30-acre site in Culpeper County. The project is expected to create 250 new jobs. Virginia successfully competed with New Jersey, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania for the project.
