RICHMOND - Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced that Terremark Worldwide, Inc., a leading operator of integrated Internet exchanges and a global provider of managed Information Technology (IT) infrastructure solutions for government and private sectors, expects to invest approximately $270 million over the next 5-7 years to open a data center campus on a 30-acre site in Culpeper County. The project is expected to create 250 new jobs. Virginia successfully competed with New Jersey, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania for the project.
RICHMOND - Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced that Holston Medical Group (HMG), a multi-specialty physician practice, will invest $3 million to open its first medical records data center in Scott County. The company, which will create 40 new jobs, will access and store the digital medical records of patients for multiple practices and hospitals in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. HMG also intends to augment the medical records facility with a multi-physician facility offering a full range of diagnostic services for Southwest Virginia.
RICHMOND - Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced that Command Information, the largest pure-play IPv6 company in the United States, will open America’s first IPv6 training center in the town of Herndon in Fairfax County. The project will create 400 new Information Technology networking, design and security jobs.
RICHMOND - In just two years, eight companies that participated in the Virginia Economic Development Partnership’s (VEDP) two-year Virginia Leaders in Export Trade (VALET) program increased annual international sales by 30 percent. Launched in January 2002, the program assists exporters in the Commonwealth that have firmly established domestic operations and are committed to international exporting as an expansion strategy. The graduating class began the program with a combined $22,450,921 in annual international sales.
LYNCHBURG - Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced that RR Donnelley, a provider of print and related services, will invest $85 million to expand manufacturing operations at its three Virginia plants, creating a combined 139 new jobs within 30 months. The company will invest $38 million in Roanoke County; $29 million in the City of Lynchburg; and $17 million in Rockingham County. Virginia successfully competed against several other states for the project.
RICHMOND - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that Clifton Forge will be the site of a new statewide customer service and data center for the Smart Tag/E-ZPass electronic toll system. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) signed a $45 million contract with TransCore to design and operate the center. TransCore, a provider of technology-based services and products that enable customers to efficiently manage ground transportation systems, assets, and transactions, will invest $1.4 million to open the facility.
RICHMOND - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that Virginia Credit & Finance, a servicing partner of Roanoke-based Atlantic Credit & Finance, will locate in Henrico County. The company will invest $1 million and create 150 new jobs over the next two years. Virginia Credit & Finance will operate its debt collection and call center operation at 2810 N. Parham Road, Suite 310. Virginia successfully competed with Maryland for the project.
RICHMOND - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that MZM, Inc. has selected the City of Martinsville’s Clearview Shell Building for a database and information technology operation. Through a $4.4 million investment, the project will create 150 new jobs over three years, with an average annual salary more than double Martinsville’s prevailing wages. Virginia successfully competed with Washington, D.C. for the project. U.S. Congressman Virgil H. Goode, Jr. was instrumental in securing this project for Virginia.
MARTINSVILLE - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced the launch of the Virginia Motorsports Initiative. The statewide initiative, comprised of public and private sector partners, will promote and support motorsports activities in Virginia as a means for economic development. Governor Warner announced the initiative this morning at Martinsville Speedway.

Warner today announced that the DRS Group, one of the nations leading document management services companies, will locate 115 new jobs in Mecklenburg County’s Town of Clarksville. Through a $1 million investment, the company will open a 32,000 square foot document conversion supercenter in the Lake Country Industrial Park Building. Virginia successfully competed with North Carolina for the investment.
