Two-year export program provides resources to support international business expansion
Nine Virginia companies recognized for completing two-year international business acceleration program
RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that nine companies from across the Commonwealth have graduated from the Virginia Economic Development Partnership’s (VEDP) Virginia Leaders in Export Trade (VALET) program. The VALET program now has 276 graduates. The VALET program assists Virginia exporters that have firmly established their domestic operations and are committed to international exporting as a growth strategy.

Lindsay Akers serves as Vice President of External Affairs at the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, where she is responsible for government relations including coordination of VEDP’s policy and budget priorities, managing strategic engagement with members of the General Assembly and staff, and coordinating with VEDP staff to ensure awareness and knowledge of ongoing policy issues impacting economic development.

RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that McAirlaid’s, Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Germany-based McAirlaid’s Vliesstoffe GmbH, will invest $7.8 million to increase production at its manufacturing facility in Franklin County. Virginia successfully competed with Germany for this project, which will create 25 new jobs.
