The Virginia Economic Development Partnership completed, in December 2017, a five-year (FY19-FY23) Strategic Plan for Economic Development of the Commonwealth, as required by the Code of Virginia as part of VEDP reforms enacted by state leaders in 2017. In addition to the Strategic Plan for Economic Development of the Commonwealth, each Gubernatorial Administration is required by Code to release an Economic Development Policy in the first year of the Administration.
VEDP is pleased to provide information and resources to our economic development partners across the Commonwealth.
VEDP offers quarterly Economic Development (ED) 101 and VEDP Orientation sessions to leaders and practitioners involved in economic development across Virginia. The ED 101 session is led in conjunction with the VEDP Orientation on a quarterly basis. Sessions typically occur in March, June, September, and December.

VBAF provides grants or loans to local governments to promote restoration and redevelopment of brownfield sites and to address environmental problems or obstacles to reuse so these sites can be effectively marketed to new economic development prospects.
VBAF Site Remediation Grant Guidelines and Application (FY26)
VBRSP is a discretionary program to promote development and characterization of sites to enhance the Commonwealth’s infrastructure and promote its competitive business environment. The program’s goal is to assess and advance the readiness of potential industrial sites of at least 50 acres in the Commonwealth of Virginia (the “Commonwealth”) in alignment with the goals outlined in the Governor's economic development plan.

NORTHAMPTON COUNTY—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that New Ravenna, a designer and manufacturer of tiles for custom residential and commercial installations, will invest more than $900,000 to expand its manufacturing operation in Northampton County. The project will create 31 new jobs.
