Altec Industries to invest $30.2 million to expand manufacturing operation 

RICHMOND - Governor Terry McAuliffe today announced that Altec Industries, a leading provider of products and services to the electric utility, telecommunications, tree care, lights and signs, and contractor markets, will invest $30.2 million to expand its manufacturing operation in Botetourt County. Virginia successfully competed against several states for this project, which will create 180 new jobs in the Commonwealth.

Virongy Biosciences Inc., a developer of viral diagnostic technologies, anti-viral drugs, and therapeutic viral vectors, will expand in Prince William County.

Birdsong Peanuts, a cornerstone company of Virginia’s peanut industry for more than 100 years, will invest $25.1 million into its peanut shelling facility in the City of Suffolk.

Mühlbauer Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Germany-based Mühlbauer Group and the world’s top producer of automated machinery designed to implement intelligent solutions, will expand its operation in the City of Newport News.

Axxor, a global leader in paper honeycomb development and production, will invest $3.5 million to expand its manufacturing capacity in Ringgold East Industrial Park in Pittsylvania County.
