Chesterfield County - Governor George Allen attended a groundbreaking ceremony for BluePrint Automation Group today at the Appomattox Industrial Park in Chesterfield County. Located in an Enterprise Zone which was created with the Governor's approval in 1995, BluePrint Automation's investment of $3 million will eventually create 20 new jobs.
$10 Million Facility To Employ Up To 400
Chesapeake - Governor George Allen today attended a groundbreaking ceremony for the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, celebrating their first Rapid Response Unit service center. The $10 million facility expects to employ more than 250 people when it opens in 1998, and as many as 400 in the future. Virginia successfully competed with New Jersey and Orlando, Florida, for the investment.
Office Products Supplier to Create 550 Jobs in Bristol
Bristol - Governor George Allen today participated in a dedication ceremony for Boise Cascade Office Products' new call center in Southwest Virginia. The Bristol facility, located in an existing 80,000 square foot shell building, will create 550 new jobs. Last December, Governor Allen presented a $350,000 check from the Governor's Opportunity Fund to the City of Bristol to assist with site preparation.

Richmond - Governor George Allen today announced that VehiCare, Inc., will relocate its corporate headquarters from Rochester, New York, to the City of Richmond. The company provides professional maintenance service to trucking fleets across the United States and will initially hire 25 employees at the Richmond headquarters, with 150 new jobs to be added across the State over the next two years.
Move Creates 100 New Jobs, $30 Million Investment
Richmond - Governor George Allen today announced that Medical Consumer Media will move its corporate headquarters from Bethesda, Maryland to Reston, Virginia. The move is expected to create 100 new jobs over the next two years, investing more than $30 million.
Japanese Manufacturer Invests $50 Million in Warren County
Front Royal - Governor George Allen today attended the grand opening ceremonies of Toray Plastics' new foam extrusion plant in Warren County. The ceremonies today consisted of a tree-planting dedication and a ribbon-cutting celebration. Approximately 115 employees will work in the $50 million facility to manufacture polyolefin foam called TORAYPEF which is used for interior automobile parts such as dashboards.
