Company to invest $28 million in manufacturing facility
Hong Kong - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced ACT MicroDevices will locate a $28 million manufacturing facility in Montgomery County. ACT, a company founded in 1996 by four Virginia Tech graduates, expects to create 300 new jobs over the next two and a half years. Virginia successfully competed with Pennsylvania for the investment.
O'Sullivan Industries to employ 100 and invest $11 million in manufacturing plant
Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore has announced O'Sullivan Industries - Virginia, Inc., a manufacturer of ready-to-assemble furniture, will expand in Halifax County and hire 100 new employees. The company will invest $11 million in the project. The South Boston plant currently employs 600 people. Virginia successfully competed with Utah and Missouri for the investment.

Prince William County, VA - Governor Jim Gilmore today attended the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for a state-of-the-art technology center built by America Online, Inc. (NYSE: AOL), the world's leading interactive services company, in Prince William County, Virginia. America Online initially broke ground on the facility in March 1999, and construction was completed in February 2000.

Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that First Data Resources, Inc. will expand operations in the City of Chesapeake. The company will invest $10 million for a new print and mail operation located at 1408 Stephanie Way. First Data anticipates creating up to 130 new jobs for the operation within the next three years. First Data opened a credit card personalization and distribution center in Chesapeake in April 1999.

Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced Capital One's decision to consolidate its Northern Virginia operations in Fairfax County. The move will create 1,000 new jobs in the Commonwealth, increasing the number of Virginians employed by Capital One to approximately 12,000. National Catalog Corporation to expand operations
Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that National Catalog Corporation (NCC), a division of Distribution Associates, will expand its operations in the Martinsville/Henry County area. The company will create 875 jobs over the next six months through a $2.5 million investment.
