RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that Networking Technologies and Support Inc. (NTS) will invest $1.5 million to expand its headquarters operation in Chesterfield County. The project will create 140 new jobs over the next three years.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that ABB Inc., a provider of power and automation products, systems, solutions and services, will expand its operation in Halifax County. The facility manufactures liquid-cooled transformers for large utility, industrial and government users. The company plans to invest $4.6 million in two phases over the next three years for the expansion and retooling of a new and more efficient process for manufacturing its Distribution Transformers (DTR).

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that MeadWestvaco Corporation (NYSE: MWV), a global leader in the packaging industry headquartered in Richmond, will invest $285 million to construct a new, state-of-the-art biomass boiler and upgrade associated power infrastructure at its facility in the City of Covington. The project allows the plant to become self-sufficient in energy production and significantly reduces ongoing operating and maintenance costs.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that Presto Products Company, a manufacturer of plastic film and bags will invest $6 million to expand its operation in Halifax County. The company will add five new manufacturing lines, creating 22 new jobs.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that Noblis, a nonprofit science, technology and strategy organization that helps clients solve complex scientific, systems, process, and infrastructure problems in ways that benefit the public, and Cray Inc., a global leader in supercomputing, will invest $2.5 million to establish the Center for Applied High Performance Computing (CAHPC) in the City of Danville.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals with operations in the Charlottesville area, New York, London, Hong Kong, and Brussels, will invest $24.5 million to establish its operations center in the City of Charlottesville, creating 45 new jobs. The organization plans to redevelop the former Martha Jefferson Hospital facility.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that Emerson Ecologics, LLC, the leading provider of professional-grade nutritional supplements to the healthcare practitioner market, will invest up to $1 million to open a distribution facility in Chesterfield County. The project will immediately create 35 new jobs, growing to a total of 60 jobs over the next three years.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that Arkay Packaging Corporation, one of the world’s premiere folding carton manufacturing companies, will invest $7.5 million to expand its operation in Botetourt County. The project will create 25 new jobs in press operations, quality control, finishing, and gluing. The investment includes a state-of-the-art Heidelberg XL105 printing press, as well as a new Bobst die-cutting press.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that Cadence, Inc., a manufacturer of cutting and piercing instruments for industrial, medical, and life science applications, will invest $15.9 million to expand its operation in the City of Staunton and create 65 new jobs within three years. Virginia successfully competed against Costa Rica for the project.
