RICHMOND - Governor Terry McAuliffe announced today that lightweight metals leader Alcoa will invest more than $8 million to expand its aerospace forging capabilities at its Alcoa Titanium & Engineered Products manufacturing operation in Henry County. The investment will add a new grinder and two new forge furnaces, doubling the facility’s forging capacity and creating 15 new jobs paying above the average prevailing wage in the region. Alcoa expects to complete the expansion by the end of this year.
Sirius Analysis, a U.K.-based defense management software consulting company, will invest $305,000 and create 105 new jobs in the City of Virginia Beach.
Afton Scientific, a manufacturer of sterile injectable pharmaceuticals, will invest over $200 million to expand its biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Albemarle County, creating hundreds of new jobs.
AXYS, a leading engineering and consulting firm specializing in building management and security systems, will invest $2.18 million to establish new operations in the City of Winchester.
Currie Medical Inc., a company specializing in medical device manufacturing and reprocessing, will invest $1.2 million to expand its operations in the City of Norfolk, creating 60 new jobs.
Marble Systems, a leading manufacturer and distributor of stone products, will invest $9.7 million to expand its operations in Caroline County, creating 59 new jobs.
