Company's investment in distribution center largest in county's history

Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that Perdue Farms, Inc. will locate a $25 million packaging, quality control, labeling and distribution center in Prince George County. The facility will be operated by the Pro Source Group, a manufacturing and logistics company based in Chicago. Pro Source plans to hire 175 employees at the Perdue plant, making the center one of the five largest employers in the area.

Dublin - Governor Jim Gilmore today participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for a $148 million expansion of Volvo Trucks North America, Inc.’s New River Valley Assembly Plant (NRV). The three-year project is expected to result in the creation of 1,277 new full-time jobs and increase the production of commercial trucks by 66 percent to 50,000 units annually.

Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced the decision by Ahold USA to relocate its corporate headquarters to Fairfax County. The decision will result in the creation of 100 new jobs in Virginia, including positions from the company’s existing facility in Atlanta. Ahold USA has purchased a new building in the Corporate Pointe 2 office park in Chantilly and will occupy the facility by September.
