Governor Glenn Youngkin Announces Eli Lilly and Company Investment of $5 Billion in Virginia

Eli Lilly and Company, a global leader in pharmaceutical innovation is moving forward with plans for a $5 billion state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that will generate 650 high-wage jobs and 1,800 construction jobs at the West Creek Business Park in Goochland County. Lilly’s announcement reflects a significant expansion beyond original plans for a $2.148 billion investment, creating 468 jobs. The project positions Virginia as a cornerstone of America’s domestic pharmaceutical supply chain, producing both critical drug components and finished medicines.

Plenty Puts Down Roots in Virginia with World’s Largest Vertical Farm Campus

After looking at five other states and considering a number of locations, Plenty selected Chesterfield County, Virginia, to establish the world’s largest indoor vertical farming campus—a $300 million investment that will create more than 300 full-time jobs. The Plenty Richmond Farm Campus marks the company’s expansion beyond the U.S. West Coast and aims to bring fresh, healthy produce to the East Coast year-round.
